Organize a barbecue with friends, stress-free

A good barbecue looks improvised; it never quite is. Forgotten charcoal, meat for twelve when twenty show up, three identical pasta salads: all of it is solved beforehand, in ten minutes of organization.

The barbecue checklist

Go through these four groups before lighting anything:

  • Equipment: plenty of charcoal or gas, firelighters, tongs, clean grates, tables and chairs.
  • Food: meats and vegetarian alternatives, salads, bread, sauces, cheese, desserts.
  • Drinks: cold comes first; coolers and ice matter as much as the bottles.
  • Extras: cups, napkins, trash bags, mosquito repellent, a speaker.

Share the load

The host provides the place and the fire; the rest is shared. Create a contribution list by category and let everyone choose: the friend with a cooler takes drinks, the group's baker takes dessert. With a shared link, everyone sees what is already covered and duplicates disappear.

The right quantities

Count 350 to 400 g (about 12 to 14 oz) of meat or alternatives per adult, half for a child, one salad for six and 1.5 liters of drinks per person in summer. Adjust at the last moment based on confirmed RSVPs: that is where a reliable headcount changes everything.

Frequently asked questions

How much meat should we plan per person?

350 to 400 g (12 to 14 oz) per adult across varied cuts, half for a child. If the headcount is still moving, wait for the last RSVPs before shopping: Zaneza's real-time count exists exactly for that.

How do we plan for vegetarians?

Ask about diets in the invitation and plan a real option (vegetable skewers, halloumi, corn) cooked before the meat or on a dedicated area of the grill.

What if it rains on the day?

Decide the day before, with a plan B announced in advance: move indoors, switch to a griddle, or postpone. Since every guest follows the same link, a change of plan takes a single update to communicate.
